Sigh
August 13, 2009
I'm back from vacation. We had terrific weather. A great time. Thanks to the wonders of technology, I was able to keep up with e-mail, etc., via my iPhone and my laptop. Thanks to those same wonders, the same e-mail goes to all three devices.
So I get on my office computer and realize I have 330 e-mails to sort through and delete.
Sigh.

Yikes. I sure hope no idiots start piling blog comments on you.
Sigh, indeed. Isn't there some way you can control that? Can't you choose which device your e-mail should go to at any given time? If not, why not, for god's sake? If we can invent these technological wonders, why can't we tweak them to make them more user-friendly?
Ugh! I use Gmail, and set it up so that if I pull emails to my Palm Pilot, they are automatically archived in Gmail. Of course, if I want to respond to them on desktop, then I have to resend them to myself, LOL...
Welcome back, Mark!
Spy,
That would be a bigger headache than it's worth for me, with my business basically totally dependent on e-mail.
Eric,
Yeah?
Sandra,
Well, as Natasha mentions, there are options. When I first switched to a Mac I tried their cloud server system, which I think is now called Me.com (I think it was MobileMe before), and it promptly screwed up ALL my e-mail accounts, although I liked the way it synched my calendars on all my devices. I'm too e-mail dependent to let it get screwed up, so I live with the redundancy.
