Although I appreciate the sentiment...

October 2, 2008
... my combined income isn't anywhere near $300,000 and not many--if any--in my neighborhood are. And what kind of writer thinks that's poor? (Except by comparison to the Presidential contenders).

Cheers,

So true, Mark. I spent some time on YouTube last night (I'm so addicted) just listening to McCain talk.

I've had fun blasting Palin. I've said that this woman is completely unprepared for the presidency. But after seeing McCain in action?

He's worse. Way worse. And when he said this, I seriously cursed him out. Not only do I know several people working two and three jobs to support their family, but what DH did last time is not much better. He's worked over four months straight, twelve hours a day, without a single day off.

McCain can go to *&^(. Americans could and do work such difficult jobs, and they sure as heck don't get paid $50 an hour.

That article makes me want to spew coffee. It makes me want to send Demon baby to the writer's house to wreak havoc.

I don't make that. I am putting one kid through college and have three more at home. I don't take vacations--but I do travel to help my mom with a blind dad. Retirement . . . a "nest egg" is a pipe dream for me. I am burdened with tens of thousands in medical debt--and I had insurance . . . just not GREAT insurance like that of the Senators and Representatives in this country. I just want to puke.

And Spy . . . that's sickening. My daughter so wants to be able to follow her dreams. I can tell you, she'd happily take that money AND work that hard. But you know what? Look at the bitching that went into just raising the minimum wage--which is the kind of job most college kids can get.

I might blow a gasket today.

Well, Spy, I've never seen that video before and if he were in the room with me when he said it I would have kicked him in the ass. Clueless!

Erica,
It just sort of convinces me how out-of-touch people get. I know that Leanne and I have it pretty good overall. But I know a lot of people who makes less money, have totally crappy or no insurance, and still work their butts off. And yet the politicians and apparently some writers just don't have any perspective.

hahaha yeah, no doubt. These people live totally outside our reality. McCain was selling his McMansion and I'm thinking...yeah this guy doesn't really identify with my wants and needs hahaha.

Even if I was a multi millionaire I wouldn't live in a mansion, too cold (impersonal) and creepy. I would be "the millionaire next door" (if you read the book) Nice middle class home in a decent neighborhood. Normal car.

No one would know. muahahaha. Except my banks.
